Teeth Whitening
Who doesn’t want a whiter and brighter smile? At Tecumseh Denture Solutions, we understand the importance of wanting to whiten your teeth. Certain foods like red wine, tea, coffee and blueberries can discolor your natural teeth, as can smoking and use of tobacco. Teeth whitening, however, will not whiten your partial denture or any other restorations. For this reason, we recommend whitening your natural teeth before we begin making your new denture appliance. This process requires making custom-fitted bleaching trays and the use of a whitening gel. Once your teeth have been whitened to your shade preference, we can then match the shade of your appliance’s teeth as close as possible to your naturally whitened teeth. Individual results may vary based on the number of applications.
Sports/Mouthguards
Do you love playing high-impact contact sports? Mouthguards are an important part of sport safety. When fitted and worn properly, they can help protect your teeth, lips, cheeks and tongue. Often they can prevent certain kinds of concussions. Mouthguards are greatly useful, and mandatory in most contact sports like football, hockey, lacrosse, soccer and wrestling. Mouthguards should be replaced seasonally or as required.
For proper care, we recommend:

Thoroughly rinsing your mouthguard in lukewarm water after each use

Storing it in a container away from pets

Never using hot water as it can distort or warp your mouthguard

Rinsing in mouthwash before wearing again to help freshen mouthguard
